MODERNIZATION OF THE GAS DISTRIBUTION NETWORK IS COMPLETED IN TARAZ
25.12.2019

National operator KazTransGas JSC, according to the schedule, completed the modernization of gas distribution networks in the Taraz.

The main objective of the project is a complete update of gas networks and equipment to increase the reliability of gas supply to consumers. The regional center gasified more than 50 years ago and, by the beginning of the reconstruction, the level of wear of distribution gas pipelines and equipment reached critical values - 66% of the total length of gas pipelines.

Modernization of Taraz gas distribution system is being implemented as part of the implementation of investment programs approved by JSC NC “KazMunayGas”. Within the framework of the project, Zhambyl production branch of KazTransGas Aimak JSC was divided into two stages. During the implementation of the first stage of the project, 712 kilometers of gas pipelines were laid, 14660 individual closet points were installed and 23233 subscribers were reconnected.

In 2017 the implementation of the 2nd phase of the project began during which all the facilities of the launch complex were completed, 82 kilometers of gas pipelines were laid, 2532 individual closet points were installed, so 3518 subscribers began to receive gas from the new system.

In total, during the implementation of the project, 899 kilometers of gas pipelines were replaced in the private sector of the city. This made possible to solve the problem of insufficient gas pressure among consumers, increasing the throughput of the gas supply system by one and a half times.

Recall that Taraz became the second largest city after Shymkent, where gas distribution networks are being modernized as part of the investment projects of the National gas operator KazTransGas JSC. The work carried out allowed not only to increase the throughput of gas pipelines, but also to significantly increase the reliability of the entire gas supply system of the two largest cities in the southern region. The updated system uninterruptedly supplies gas to all consumers, ensures the stable operation of small and medium-sized enterprises, public utilities.

At now, the total length of gas pipelines in the Zhambyl region is about 5 thousand kilometers, including 1510 km in Taraz. In addition, eight districts of the region have been gasified: Talas, Zhambyl, Bayzak, Zhualinsky, T. Ryskulova, Merkensky, Shusky and Kordaysky.
