"YEAR OF HEALTH": QAZAQGAZ HELD AN ANNUAL STRATEGIC SESSION ON HSE ISSUES
The annual Strategic Session on HSE was held for employees of the QazaqGaz group of companies. During the event, the participants discussed key issues of labor protection, safety, and the impact of climate change on workers' health.

The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the Board of JSC NC QazaqGaz, Sanzhar Zharkeshov. He emphasized the importance of the company's commitment to Vision Zero principles.
"We at QazaqGaz are actively implementing new measures to protect the health of our employees. This year, which we declared the "Year of Health" we have significantly expanded the capabilities of medical monitoring and disease prevention. Our commitment to the Vision Zero principles remains unchanged - the safety and well-being of our employees always come first for us," said the head of the national company.
Gibrat Auganov, Managing Director of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, also delivered a welcoming speech. Altay Dzhakubaliyev, Head of the HSE Service of QazaqGaz NC JSC, presented the key safety indicators for the first nine months of 2024. Then, representatives of international companies such as CNPC, Eni, Chevron, and Shell shared their experiences and approaches to ensuring safety and sustainable development with the participants.
In 2024, the QazaqGaz group of companies implemented the following measures aimed at improving working conditions:
1. Automated medical examination systems were installed at production facilities.
2. Additional diagnostic examinations aimed at the early detection of cardiovascular diseases were included in the insurance programs.
3. A screening program has been introduced to identify early-stage risk factors, including oncological ones.
4. Glucometers and test systems for monitoring blood glucose and cholesterol levels have been purchased.
For the first time, awards have been introduced for employees actively involved in the implementation of HSE programs, including the "HSE Үздігі – HSE Excellent Worker" badge.
In addition, over the past two years, the national company's efforts have been aimed at reducing injuries. This has contributed to the fact that work-related injuries decreased by 33% in 2024.
These steps confirm QazaqGaz's commitment to improving safety and working conditions, especially in the context of the global climate crisis. They also emphasize the importance of the Vision Zero concept for the company.
The event ended with a ceremony to sign the Vision Zero concept Commitments, with the participation of the Chairman of the Board of JSC NC "QazaqGaz" Sanzhar Zharkeshov, and the top managers of subsidiaries and affiliates.
