The service implies transportation of natural gas produced in a foreign country starting from its entry point, through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to the exit from the territory of Kazakhstan to a third country.

Basic requirements to sign an agreement for gas transit services imply:

- provision of supporting documents evidencing the relevant gas volumes (original of the resources certificate or a sale-and-purchase contract with a gas producer);

- written consent to accept the gas issued by the owner of the gas transmission system in the neighbor country or a sale and purchase agreement with the company granted with the right of access to the gas transmission system of such neighbor country;

- compliance of gas with the quality standards set in the ST of the RoK 1666-2007.

The tariffs for gas transportation in a transit mode are set on negotiated basis with account of costs related to the provision of services and the margin to finance capital investments.
